SaaS Browser

Looks like current browsers are not that good for SaaS and there could be a client application.  SaaS provider Entellium puts it straight away: “The smart client approach enables a SaaS distribution model you can’t replicate with a browser-only product because [with a browser-based product] there is nothing to ’ship’”.

From my “common Web” perspective, I believe that SaaS will have to get into the browser. Otherwise, it could always use a RIA-like enhance technology but yet again, it does not matter that much since one of the main SaaS features is precisely the “my way or the highway” approach. Either the customer commits with the business (process and data) model or it is not going to work.

Another interesting issue is cloud computing as the infrastructure model that enables SaaS. Food for thought, yes.
